Kaduna Pilgrims Agency Completes Refunds, Strengthens Trust in Hajj Welfare System

The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (KSPWA) has successfully refunded over 3,000 pilgrims who participated in the 2023 Hajj, fulfilling the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and reinforcing transparency in the state’s Hajj operations.
According to a statement issued by the agency’s spokesperson, Yunusa Mohammed Abdullahi, and made available to journalists in Kaduna on Sunday, each pilgrim received ₦61,080, with payments directly deposited into their respective bank accounts.
The refund was necessitated by an electricity supply disruption during the pilgrims’ stay at Muna, which affected cooling systems and caused discomfort. Governor Uba Sani’s administration has remained committed to ensuring the welfare of Kaduna pilgrims by swiftly processing and disbursing these refunds.
While acknowledging delays for some individuals due to incomplete or incorrect account details, Abdullahi appreciated the patience of affected pilgrims and assured them that a new round of payments is scheduled for next week.
“We urge all pilgrims yet to receive their refunds to promptly submit their correct account details to their local government Registration Officers for seamless processing,” he stated.
The Executive Chairman of the Agency, Malam Salihu Abubakar, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to concluding the refund process efficiently and focusing on 2024 Hajj preparations to ensure a seamless experience for intending pilgrims.
By promptly addressing concerns and ensuring accountability, the Kaduna State Government continues to build confidence in the Hajj welfare system, positioning itself as a leader in pilgrimage management in Nigeria.
