Kaduna State Revenue Agency Cracks Down on Tax Defaulters, Seals Business Premises
The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) has taken decisive action against tax defaulters, sealing two hotels, an event center, and other business premises within the Kaduna metropolis. The closure follows unpaid taxes totaling approximately N422.6 million, signaling the state government’s commitment to enforcing tax compliance. Aysha Ahmad, KADIRS Board Secretary and Legal Advisor, emphasized the agency’s responsibility to enforce compliance, utilizing the powers vested in them by law. While acknowledging the reluctance to resort to sealing properties, Ahmad underscored the importance of voluntary tax compliance, urging citizens to fulfill their civic responsibility.
