Kebbi Deputy Governor Distributes Relief Materials to 2,450 Vulnerable Families

In a demonstration of humanitarian commitment, Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, has flagged off the distribution of 2,450 relief food baskets to vulnerable families across the state.

The relief items, donated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, Saudi Arabia, were distributed in Bulasa, Birnin Kebbi, marking a significant intervention for families in need.

Representing Governor Nasir Idris, Senator Tafida expressed deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their continued support to Kebbi State.

“This intervention will bring relief to families struggling with economic hardship, and we appreciate the King Salman Centre for their generosity and unwavering humanitarian support,” he stated.

The event also highlighted the longstanding relationship between Kebbi State and Saudi Arabia, particularly in matters related to the Hajj pilgrimage and social welfare initiatives.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) representative, Hajiya Fatima Hassan, detailed the contents of the relief baskets, which included 25kg of rice, beans, tomato paste, seasoning cubes, semovita, cooking oil, and salt.

Senior officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafidan Yauri, and the Chairman of the State Emergency Management Agency, Hon. Bello Yakubu Rilisko, also commended the efforts of the donors and the state government for prioritizing the welfare of the vulnerable.

This relief initiative reinforces Governor Nasir Idris’ commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and ensuring no one is left behind in Kebbi State.
