Kebbi Governor’s Wife Commissions Health Facilities and Empowers Pregnant Women

In a significant boost to maternal and child healthcare in Dandi Local Government, Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris, the wife of the Kebbi State Governor, has commissioned a maternity complex, a pediatric center, and a renovated Primary Health Centre in Geza.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Nafisa praised the initiative of State Assembly Member, Dr. Sulaiman Abubakar Fana, who sponsored the renovation. She emphasized that these facilities will greatly enhance healthcare services for women and children in the community.
Encouraging pregnant women to attend antenatal and postnatal care, Dr. Nafisa called on husbands to actively support their wives’ health needs.
The State Commissioner of Health, Comrade Yunusa Musa Isma’il, also applauded the initiative and urged local communities to maintain the newly renovated structures for long-term sustainability.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Halima Hassan Kamba, announced an upcoming empowerment program aimed at supporting women in Dandi Local Government.
The District Head of Kamba (Sarkin Shikon Kamba), Alhaji Mamuda Zarumai, expressed appreciation for Dr. Nafisa’s commitment to improving healthcare services and uplifting the well-being of women and children.
Representatives from WHO, UNICEF, health organizations, traditional leaders, and women’s groups were present at the event. The program’s highlight was the distribution of Mama Kits to expectant mothers, ensuring safe deliveries and improved maternal care.
