Kebbi State Government and King Salman Humanitarian Aid Centre Provide Relief to Vulnerable Families

The Kebbi State Government, in collaboration with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, Saudi Arabia, has commenced the distribution of 2,450 relief food baskets to vulnerable families across the state.

The Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, who flagged off the distribution in Bulasa, Birnin Kebbi, described the initiative as a major humanitarian intervention aimed at alleviating the hardships of vulnerable citizens.

Representing Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, Senator Tafida expressed the state government’s deep appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s generosity, particularly in humanitarian and religious affairs. He noted that Kebbi State has enjoyed a strong and cordial relationship with Saudi Arabia, especially in Hajj-related matters.

He commended the Federal Government and NEMA for their consistent support, emphasizing that the relief distribution aligns with the state government’s broader efforts to assist flood victims and displaced persons.

Speaking at the event, Hajiya Fatima Hassan, representing the Director-General of NEMA, explained that the relief items include 25 kg of rice and beans, along with food baskets containing tomatoes, Maggi, semovita, oil, and salt.

The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafidan Yauri, and Chairman of the State Emergency Management Agency, Hon. Bello Yakubu Rilisko, also lauded the King Salman Humanitarian Aid Centre and NEMA for their unwavering support.

The event’s highlight was the symbolic presentation of relief items to beneficiaries, reinforcing the government’s commitment to enhancing social welfare and food security across the state.
