Kogi Deputy Governor Dismisses False Allegations, Reaffirms Commitment to Democratic Values
The Office of the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, has strongly denied recent allegations made by one Omera Opaluwa accusing the Deputy Governor of orchestrating an assault on opposition SDP members in Ejule. The statement, described as baseless and politically motivated, was swiftly dismissed as a desperate attempt to mislead the public.
Clarifying the situation, it was revealed that Comrade Salifu has been on official assignment outside the state since May 15 and could not have participated in any such incident. The Deputy Governor remains a staunch advocate of robust democratic engagement and constructive opposition, and has consistently encouraged dialogue and peaceful political competition.
The state government advises opposition figures to resolve internal disputes and refrain from spreading falsehoods that threaten public peace. Citizens were urged to disregard the unfounded claims and continue supporting the people-centred administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, committed to inclusive governance and stability across Kogi State.
