Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, has issued a strong directive to Enumerators and Supervisors involved in the 2024/2025 Annual School Census, emphasizing the need for field-based data collection and zero tolerance for fraudulent reporting.

Speaking in Lokoja at a two-day training workshop organized in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Education, the Commissioner warned that the era of “armchair enumeration” is over. “This government has invested significantly in this census and expects nothing short of excellence and accuracy,” he stated.

Hon. Jones stressed that real-time data is essential for effective planning and aligns with global trends in educational digitalization. He assured that monitoring mechanisms will be in place to ensure accountability.

Supporting the charge, Acting Permanent Secretary Mrs. Omolayo Berikisu and Director of Educational Planning, Research, and Statistics Dr. Animoku Ahman Elizabeth encouraged all field officers to approach the task with integrity, responsibility, and a sense of national duty. “You are the critical stakeholders—do not fail the system,” Dr. Elizabeth said.
