As part of its commitment to expanding electricity access, the Kogi State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has pledged to collaborate with Light Up Movement in advancing power supply solutions.

Speaking at a meeting with the movement’s leadership at the commission’s headquarters in Lokoja, KERC Chairman Ibrahim Sunday Abdulwaris emphasized that both organizations share a common vision for improved electricity access across the state.

“Our objectives align, and we recognize the need to work together to drive sustainable electricity distribution across Kogi State,” he stated.

The KERC Chairman also revealed that a new electricity distribution company, the Kogi State Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), will soon take over power distribution responsibilities, ensuring better service delivery and increased energy reliability.

In response, Light Up Movement Chairman, Comrade Iliyasu Zakari, reaffirmed the movement’s readiness to work closely with KERC, particularly in policy development and public engagement initiatives.

The meeting also featured discussions on regulatory frameworks, engineering infrastructure, and stakeholder engagement strategies, as Kogi State moves toward a more robust electricity distribution network.
