Kwara Accelerates Land Reforms with Over 600 Land Titles Processed in Q1 2025

The Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KWGIS) has recorded a major breakthrough in land administration, processing 354 “Charting for Confirmation” documents and 247 Certificates of Occupancy in Q1 2025. This progress is attributed to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s digital transformation agenda, which has automated land services and improved transparency.
Executive Chairman of KWGIS, ESV. Abdulkareem Babatunde Sulyman, made the announcement during the state’s quarterly inter-ministerial briefing. He highlighted ongoing reforms under the state’s urban renewal programme, including land recovery along key public institutions and roads, and the use of smart surveying tools to streamline operations.
The Governor also acquired over 1,000 hectares for a large-scale agriculture project and 2,000 hectares for an industrial park, signaling strong investment in infrastructure and economic growth. With land reform now a key driver of IGR and sustainable development, Kwara is positioning itself as a forward-thinking state with sound governance and planning.
