Kwara Enforces New Color Codes to Enhance Transport Security and Smart City Vision

0

The Kwara State Government has introduced standardized color codes for transport vehicles across the state to enhance public safety and support the state’s Smart City initiative. This bold step was unveiled by the Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Korasabi, during a strategic consultative meeting involving transport unions, security agencies, and ministry officials.

According to the new policy, intra-state vehicles—such as shuttle buses and tricycles—must now adopt a yellow color with green stripes, while inter-state vehicles will be marked with green and white stripes. Compliance is mandatory by September 30, 2025, after which violators will face strict sanctions. The initiative aims to streamline identification, discourage criminality, and reinforce public confidence in Kwara’s transport system.

Transport union leaders across Kwara applauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his proactive leadership. They pledged full compliance, recognizing the policy’s potential to reduce transportation-related crimes. The move underscores the administration’s commitment to building a secure, orderly, and modern transportation system that protects both operators and commuters.
