Kwara State Commends ACReSAL for Enhancing Water Resource Management
The Kwara State Government has commended the Kwara Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (KWACReSAL) project for its interventions in water resource management, including the provision of a brand-new Hilux vehicle to the Ministry of Water Resources for improved monitoring of waterworks across the state.
Speaking during a visit by consultants from the Federal Project Management Unit of ACReSAL, Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, represented by Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Christiana Omolola Asonibare, applauded the project’s impact in enhancing sustainability in water management.
“The support from ACReSAL has significantly improved our ministry’s capacity to monitor waterworks efficiently. We appreciate the continued partnership and urge for more support in critical areas,” she stated.
The visit also focused on strengthening institutional policies to ensure long-term impact. Paul Andrew Gwaza, Team Lead of the Federal Project Management Unit, reiterated that ACReSAL is a World Bank-assisted project committed to sustainable landscape management and ensuring that its interventions are effectively utilized.
In addition to water resource management, the meeting also emphasized the need for sensitization campaigns on bush burning and deforestation to promote environmental conservation.
