Lagos, Gates Foundation, and Engender Health Unite to Strengthen Maternal and Child Health

A groundbreaking public-private collaboration is taking root in Lagos as the State Government, in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Engender Health, launched the “Advocacy Solutions to Improve PHC and RMNCAH Delivery” project. The initiative, unveiled by Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Kemi Ogunyemi, marks a bold step toward equitable and efficient healthcare for women, children, and adolescents.
Representing Health District III at the launch, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke applauded the strategic focus on accountability and primary health care (PHC) strengthening. The project will deploy targeted advocacy tools to improve reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (RMNCAH) outcomes across communities in Lagos.
This milestone aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s health-focused T.H.E.M.E.S Plus agenda and demonstrates Lagos State’s resolve to leave no one behind in the journey to accessible, inclusive, and sustainable healthcare. It also exemplifies the power of partnerships in accelerating grassroots health reforms.
