In a proactive move to enhance environmental safety and social harmony, the Lagos State Government has restricted working hours at all construction sites across the state to between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday. This directive was announced by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, during a press briefing in Alausa.

The new regulation aims to protect the environment, reduce noise pollution, prevent building collapse, and improve residents’ quality of life. Dr. Olumide emphasized that compliance is mandatory and will be strictly enforced by relevant agencies. However, exemptions may be granted upon formal application and assessment.

He called on Lagosians to actively support the enforcement effort by reporting violations, stressing that responsible construction practices are essential to achieving a safer and more livable city. This initiative reflects the Sanwo-Olu administration’s unwavering commitment to orderly development and citizen well-being.
