The Lagos State Government has presented Provisional Approval Letters to 70 private schools, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to educational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Through the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), the approval was granted to 41 Nursery/Primary Schools and 29 Junior/Senior Secondary Schools, ensuring they meet Lagos’ high standards of learning and child safety.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony at the Education Resource Centre, Ojodu, Ikeja, the Supervising Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Sesan Ogundeko, emphasized that the approval process ensures only credible institutions operate.
“The government is deeply invested in the education sector, ensuring that private institutions uphold the highest teaching and learning standards. These approvals signify the state’s dedication to quality education, child safety, and compliance with educational laws,” Ogundeko stated.
The Coordinating Director of OEQA, Mr. Remi Abdul, noted that out of over 100 applications, only 70 schools met the rigorous criteria, undergoing thorough inspections and regulatory assessments.
School proprietors commended Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration for its continued investment in the education sector, with recipients expressing gratitude for the recognition and validation of their institutions.
