Lagos State Begins Full Enforcement of E-Call Up System on Lekki-Epe Corridor

0

The Lagos State Government has commenced full enforcement of the E-Call Up System for trucks along the Lekki-Epe corridor, streamlining vehicle movements in the rapidly growing industrial hub.

The system, which had been in development for over two years, was introduced to prevent congestion and regulate truck traffic accessing:

• Lekki Deep Seaport

• Lekki Free Zone

• Dangote Refinery

• Other major industries in the axis

Despite extensive stakeholder engagement and adjustments to the enforcement date, some truck operators have refused to comply.

Following the January 24, 2025, enforcement exercise, 10 trucks were apprehended and later released as a goodwill gesture, allowing operators to adjust and integrate into the system. However, on February 21, 2025, another 11 trucks were seized for non-compliance, with some operators resorting to attacks on enforcement officers.

While the state government released the trucks and detained suspects, authorities warned that future violations would result in strict penalties.

From March 1, 2025, total enforcement will commence, and all violators will face the full wrath of the law.

The Lagos State Government remains committed to providing a conducive business environment while ensuring law and order along the Lekki-Epe industrial corridor.
