Lagos State Equips Teachers with Digital Skills for Smart Classrooms

As part of its education reform strategy, the Lagos State Government has trained over 300 teachers on Grade Levels 10-12 on integrating technology into classroom learning.

Declaring open the two-day capacity-building workshop, TESCOM Chairman, Mrs. Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, emphasized the importance of digital education in preparing students for the 21st-century workforce.

“Technology is transforming education, and Lagos must lead the way. Our teachers must be equipped with the necessary digital skills to enhance student learning,” she stated.

The training, themed “Creating and Maintaining a Technology-Infused Classroom for Public Secondary School Teachers”, covered:

• Digital teaching tools and online learning platforms.

• Interactive classroom management strategies.

• Innovative teaching methodologies using AI and mobile technologies.

The Permanent Secretary, TESCOM, Mrs. Adebopo Oyekan-Ismaila, encouraged teachers to embrace continuous learning, urging them to stay ahead of emerging digital trends.

Participants praised the initiative, pledging to apply their new skills to improve learning outcomes across Lagos public schools.

The training aligns with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration’s commitment to digital transformation in education, ensuring that Lagos students remain globally competitive.
