To enhance efficiency, innovation, and leadership in public service, the Lagos State Government has introduced an exchange program that will place civil servants in private sector organizations for hands-on experience and knowledge transfer.

Speaking at the official launch, the Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, described the initiative as a progressive step towards a dynamic, result-oriented civil service.

“This program bridges the gap between public and private sector work ethics, operational models, and leadership strategies. Our goal is to create a competitive, innovative, and service-driven public sector,” he stated.

The exchange program, conceptualized by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in 2021, equips civil servants with 21st-century workplace skills, enabling them to adopt global best practices.

The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, urged beneficiaries to embrace the opportunity, emphasizing that dedication, discipline, and professionalism are essential for public service transformation.

Under the initiative, civil servants will spend three months in selected private sector organizations, gaining insights that will improve governance and service delivery across Lagos State.
