LASG Launches Statewide Enumeration of Telecoms Masts to Enhance Infrastructure Safety
The Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA) has commenced a comprehensive enumeration exercise of telecommunication masts and towers across the state.
This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), is expected to run for three months, starting from February 1, 2025.
According to LASIMRA General Manager/CEO, Prince Oyekanmi Elegushi, the primary goal of this exercise is to update the agency’s database with accurate and comprehensive information on all communication, telecoms, radio, television, and security infrastructure within Lagos State.
“This effort will not only enhance regulatory oversight but also ensure the safety and well-being of all residents by identifying and addressing potential structural or environmental concerns associated with masts and towers,” Elegushi stated.
He urged telecom operators, broadcasting companies, banks, security agencies, property owners, and the general public to fully cooperate with the enumerators.
