NEGF: Governor Buni Commends President Tinubu’s Leadership, Urges Regional Economic Independence
Yobe State Governor and host of the 11th North-East Governors Forum (NEGF) meeting, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership during a challenging period for the nation. Speaking in Damaturu, Governor Buni commended the President’s policies aimed at unifying and strengthening Nigeria’s economic and security frameworks.
He called on his fellow North-East governors to enhance synergy with security agencies and federal institutions to combat the resurgence of insurgency in the region. “We must consolidate peace, review our strategies, and implement bold actions to sustain development,” he stated.
Buni also emphasized the need to reduce reliance on federal allocations by harnessing the region’s agricultural potential. “We have vast arable lands and a youthful population. Our duty is to make agriculture attractive, affordable, and profitable through mechanization and targeted inputs,” he added.
