Niger First Lady Advocates for ‘AGILE’ Project Support

The First Lady of Niger State, Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Umaru Bago, has called for increased support and awareness for the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project. In a statement issued by her Press Secretary, Hadiza Abdullahi Maikano, Hajiya Fatima emphasized the project’s potential to improve educational opportunities for adolescent girls by increasing their enrollment and retention rates in schools. The project, supported by the World Bank, aims to empower girls in Niger State and other regions where it will be implemented.
During an advocacy visit to the Palace of the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, Hajiya Fatima called on all stakeholders to support the initiative, stressing the importance of ensuring that girls receive quality education. She was accompanied by the wife of the Speaker of the Niger House of Assembly, Hajiya Hassana Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed, and other aides.
