During a visit to Deputy Governor Peter Odey, Ndace emphasized the need to shift the narrative around Nigeria from a focus on negative stories to showcasing its positive aspects.

Ndace highlighted VON’s role in presenting Nigeria’s diverse cultural heritage and developmental achievements on a global stage. He stressed the importance of proactively promoting positive stories to counteract widespread misinformation and improve Nigeria’s international image.

“The country is not solely defined by negative news; we have significant achievements and cultural treasures that deserve recognition,” Ndace said. He urged Nigerians to unite in promoting the country’s successes and contributions.

Deputy Governor Odey welcomed the partnership, noting the government’s commitment to restoring Cross River as a prime tourist destination. He highlighted plans to collaborate with VON to publicize key events like Carnival Calabar and other transformative projects under Governor Otu’s administration.

The collaboration aims to leverage VON’s extensive reach in multiple languages to enhance global awareness of Cross River’s potential. Ndace’s visit also included meetings with local stakeholders, including the Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi-Otu V, to further strengthen the partnership.
