Ogun State Commences Tolling Operations on Epe-Mojoda-Ijebu-Ode Expressway

The Ogun State Government has announced the commencement of tolling operations on the Epe-Mojoda-Ijebu-Ode Expressway, effective Monday, 24th March 2025.
This move aims to ensure sustainable road maintenance, efficient operations, and enhanced road safety. The 14.7km expressway, previously in a state of disrepair, has been transformed by Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration into a modern highway with world-class facilities, including toll booths.
According to Hon. Dapo Oduwole, Director-General, Office of the Public-Private Partnerships, the government initially delayed tolling despite the PPP arrangement as a gesture of goodwill from Governor Abiodun, prioritizing the comfort of Ogun residents and road users.
“Prince Dapo Abiodun recognized the expressway as a strategic economic corridor linking Lagos and Ogun State. While we have considered the interests of residents, we must also factor in the economic viability of the investment to ensure long-term maintenance,” Oduwole stated.
The government has exempted certain vehicles from toll payments, including:
• Emergency response vehicles (ambulances, fire service, and patrol vehicles).
• Government-owned security vehicles.
• Official Ogun State Government vehicles.
All other road users are expected to comply with tolling regulations, with strict enforcement measures in place.
