Promise Fulfilled: Governor Ododo Supports NYSC Corps Members with Rice Donation

In fulfillment of a promise made during the swearing-in of the 2025 Batch A Stream I Corps members, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has donated bags of rice to corps members serving in the state. This gesture demonstrates the governor’s commitment to youth welfare and his proactive leadership in supporting national service participants.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, Governor Ododo had pledged to prioritize corps members’ welfare amid rising economic challenges. The commissioner, speaking with journalists in Lokoja, confirmed the donation and noted it as part of broader efforts to ensure a smooth and supportive orientation experience for corps members in the state.
Corps members at the Asaya orientation camp expressed gratitude for the kind gesture, praising the state government for its compassion, hospitality, and responsiveness. The Commissioner also assured that Governor Ododo’s administration will continue to support the NYSC scheme in Kogi. With each fulfilled promise, Governor Ododo continues to earn the trust and admiration of the people—especially the youth—as a responsive and compassionate leader.
