In a continued demonstration of compassion and inclusive governance, the First Lady of Sokoto State, Hajiya Fatima Ahmed Aliyu, has empowered 1,000 vulnerable individuals with food supplies and cash support to cushion the effects of economic hardship.

Each beneficiary received 50kg of rice, 100kg of millet, and ₦20,000 in cash, under the banner of the Nigerian Governors’ Wives Association (NGWA). At the distribution event, the First Lady emphasized the administration’s priority on social welfare and inclusive support for disadvantaged populations.

Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Hajiya Hadiza Shagari, lauded the First Lady’s consistent leadership in driving inclusive empowerment initiatives. She noted that beneficiaries were drawn equitably from all 23 local government areas, ensuring no community was left behind.

The initiative is part of a broader national movement among governors’ wives to complement state and federal efforts in addressing food insecurity and supporting vulnerable groups, including women, children, and persons with disabilities.
