Sokoto State Government Acquires Housing Units and Approves Infrastructure Projects
The Sokoto State Executive Council has approved the purchase of 136 housing units built by the Federal Government in Kwannawa area, Dange Shuni Local Government. The acquisition follows an offer from the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and is aimed at providing affordable housing for Sokoto residents. Additionally, the council approved the establishment of four motor parks in different areas of Sokoto metropolis to ease transportation of goods and enhance revenue generation. Other infrastructure projects approved include the purchase of vehicles for the office of the State Deputy Governor, renovation of the personal residence of former President Shehu Shagari, and the establishment of a permanent secretariat for the newly established Sokoto Community Guards Corps. These initiatives underscore the state government’s commitment to improving housing, transportation, and security infrastructure for the benefit of its citizens.
