Yobe Agriculture Ministry Empowers Extension Workers with Training and Motorcycles

In a major step to enhance agricultural productivity, the Yobe State Ministry of Agriculture has concluded a two-day training for extension workers, equipping them with modern techniques and resources to support farmers across 17 local government areas.
At the closing ceremony, Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Ali Mustapha Goniri, presented 200 motorcycles to the trainees, enabling them to reach remote farming communities and enhance food security.
Commending Governor Mai Mala Buni for his unwavering commitment to agricultural development, the Commissioner emphasized that all beneficiaries were selected on merit, ensuring effective service delivery.
“The motorcycles are strictly for official use, ensuring that extension workers can efficiently support local farmers,” he stated.
One of the beneficiaries, Binta Zakari from Potiskum LGA, expressed her gratitude, pledging to justify the confidence placed in her, particularly as a female role model in the agricultural sector.
This initiative underscores Yobe State’s dedication to modernizing agriculture, increasing farmers’ productivity, and improving rural livelihoods.
